Vision: People of Guinea/West-Africa and UK/Europe exchange and access knowledge and resources/materials to widen their understanding, to improve cooperation and their lives in environmentally sustainable way.
Alanouwaly Salifou Sylla Foundation was formed in the name of the late Guinean musician Salifou Sylla to build community and partnership between people of Guinea/West-Africa and UK/Europe to assist and improve each other’s life through inclusive and respectful exchange of skills, knowledge, music and culture.
We work with our partner group in Guinea to build a learning and community centre to help Guineans with knowledge and resources to improve their lives and to exchange culture, arts and knowledge between the cultures of Africa and Europe. In the UK we organise African drum and dance classes in schools and other community settings, presentations about the issues in Africa and an Annual Community Festival, Salifest. We are furthering the communication, understanding and appreciation between all cultures. We have achieved much with little resources
