Objectives

Age UK Somerset is a local charity promoting the well-being and independence of older people and adding value to later life. We put the needs and choices of older people at the heart of all we do by providing comprehensive and accessible information and services.

Activities

Information and Advice- providing facts and guidance on a range of issues such as housing and social care, benefit entitlement and consumer matters.
Ageing Well- promoting healthy lifestyles by running exercise classes tailored specifically to the over 55’s, with a focus on having fun.
Befriending- working to reduce isolation by matching lonely older people with volunteers who visit regularly.
Toenail cutting- maintaining foot health in order to assist with fall prevention.
Trading- offering products and services such as insurance for the over 50’s.
Community support- supporting older people to remain active and independent through a range of activities to encourage socialising and learning, including IT tuition, interesting talks and craft sessions.
