Objectives

Age UK Hull exists to support older people (50+) in Hull live active, independent and fulfilling lives. We offer a range of charitable interventions which are funded through a combination of fundraised income, public sector funding and commercial income. We operate from a bespoke building close to the city centre of Hull. We work with local communities and other charities to ensure that older people feel safe and well and can flourish. We provide telephone and face to befriending services, day time support (including carer respite) practical support within the home, benefits advice (in 2016/17 the field of benefit we succeeded in supporting older people to claim in excess of £700,000.) Our sports and fitness suite helps older people to remain healthy and active whilst encouraging social interaction and friendships. Our trading company and charity shop provides unrestricted income to subsidise our charitable objectives.

Activities

Our key objectives include that we encourage, promote and organise direct services appropriate to the needs of elderly individuals and groups. We also work with other bodies across the Hull to achieve the same. We are supported by the national organisation Age UK however, remain and independent charity within the heart of the community.
