Age Concern North Dorset is a small independent charity serving the over 50's in Sturminster Newton and the surrounding villages. Services are Befriending/Friendship, Telephone Advice, Home IT visits, fortnightly Foot Clinic, Benefits Advice, Exercise Class and weekly 'Drop-In'. The office is open 5 mornings a week and staff and volunteers work hard to support those who are vulnerable, isolated or looking for social contact.
We are in a rural area of North Dorset where older people need social inclusion and access to advice and amenities. We help over 600 individuals a year and our services have been developed to respond to local need. This is evidenced by a 26% rise in requests for help over the year.
