AFFCAD UK is a small, friendly organisation. We registered as a UK charity on 6th January 2016.
We work alongside AFFCAD (Action For Fundamental Change and Development), a community based organisation in Bwaise. This is one of the largest and poorest slum areas in Kampala, Uganda. AFFCAD runs various projects: the only free primary school in Bwaise, health counselling sessions, a vocational youth training centre. The last one has just received funds from the EU.
We believe extreme poverty can - and will be - reduced if we work together. The strenghts of the AFFCAD family is that the four inspiring funders have been born and raised in Bwaise and know the challenges of growing up in a slum first hand.
We aim to support AFFCAD projects on the ground (Bwaise, Uganda) through smaller and bigger fundraising events in the UK, help with professional expertise and connect individuals and businesses around the world with the community in Bwaise.
Currently, we are planning the rebuild of our nursery and primary school in Bwaise.
