Objectives

AAFDA supports individuals and families who have been directly impacted by a fatality which is the consequence of domestic abuse. These fatalities can be a homicide or a suicide or be unexplained. As well as emotional support, we assist our clients with inquests, Domestic Homicide Reviews and dealing with professionals of all types that might be connected with the death.

Activities

We employ a team of specialist advocates who support families and clients directly. We have a team of volunteers who peer support programmes. We also provide training course to professionals and others connected to fatalities connected to domestic abuse. Finally, we have a network of professionals who we facilitate to share best practice in this environment.

We are funded by the Home Office, National Lottery Community Fund, Police and Crime Commissioners, as well as be various trusts and foundations.
