Small or unincorporated organisation
Geographical remit:

Active Cornwall aims to work collaboratively with and within targeted communities and key partners, enabling positive change by joining up forces around the big systemic issues that influence behaviour change and inequalities (health, communities, environment). This is important as tackling inequalities in physical activity behaviours means tackling the causes of inequalities, these are local and systemic.

Our main focus is on those who need support the most to bring movement into their lives. This can involve people of lower economic means, women, those who identify as being part of the LGBTQ+ community, older people, those from marginalised, cultural and ethnically diverse communities and people living with long term health conditions or a disability.

Our strategic direction is heavily influenced by our main funder Sport England, their recent Uniting the Movement | Sport England strategy and the local priorities for Cornwall.

We are really focusing on the transformation of our operation to better support the priorities identified by Cornwall and to deliver enhanced support for all our system partners. Top notch leadership and governance will provide the foundation for our new role as the leading advocate for physical activity and the catalyst for change in the systems that lead to specific inequalities. We will be joining forces on the big issues across education, health, communities and active environments to help deliver vibrant, safe, supportive communities and ensure that Cornwall is a brilliant place to be a child and grow up.
