Objectives

ACE was founded in 1990 to provide community based education and training in the borough of Wigan and Leigh for people with learning disabilities. It is a voluntary organisation with charitable status which does not make a profit from any of its activities.

At ACE we provide a service which works in partnership with a variety of community based agencies and resources.

We strive for continuous improvement in the quality of service by regular evaluation and investment in the professional development of staff and volunteers.

Our aims include providing a comprehensive student centred service, working to enable students to make informed choices about their lives by encouraging them to take an active part in their own community for their own and the community’s benefit.

Activities

ACE provides educational and fun activities for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs.  We offer a person centred service, in convenient town centre locations, delivered by qualified tutors and learning support workers.

ACE caters for all levels of learners, from Pre-Entry to Entry Level 3 who are seeking to improve their Personal Development skills or Work Awareness Skills. Students have the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised awards and qualifications in Life Skills and Skills for Employment through ASDAN.
