We have been in existence 35 years – and are run by volunteers. All our highly experienced and qualified staff, along with local volunteers makes every effort to ensure all feel as welcome and as supported as possible. You'll find our services encourage independent living, balanced with dignity and sensitivity, and a real sense of community and family.

We have three houses in Southport – Alexandra Road, Waterloo Road and Scarisbrick New Road, supporting 23 residents.

Abbeyfield is one of the largest voluntary sector UK-wide providers of housing and care for older people, committed to alleviating loneliness while maintaining independence. Our vision is ‘making more time for older people’ and we see volunteers as crucial in helping us achieve this.

Abbeyfield provides housing for older people at different stages of later life. We offer a range of accommodation designed to encourage independence, dignity and sensitivity. This includes sheltered houses, care homes, independent living schemes and we have homes specifically designed to support older people with dementia
