Objectives

8 Lives is a very small rescue based in Sheffield S8, aiming to help predominantly, though not exclusively, cats in the local area. Our name not only reflects our post code, but also that the cats and kittens who come to us have already lost one of their 9 lives. We rehome throughout Sheffield and surrounding areas, and sometimes further afield for "more difficult to place" cats.

Activities

All our cats and kittens are precious and we want to ensure the very best for them. They may have lost one or more of their nine lives already but we want to do our best to make sure that the remaining 8 are as healthy and happy as possible. As soon as they come to us the cats and kittens are health checked by our vets. They are vaccinated and microchipped, and if old enough are also neutered prior to adoption. If they are not old enough, this will be done as soon as appropriate as a condition of adoption. Some of the cats that come to us have complex medical issues that mean they are not suitable for adoption - in this case, we look to secure loving long-term foster homes, where we meet the cost of on-going medicine and veterinary care. Where that is not possible, they continue under the care of 8 Lives so that their remaining life is safe, warm and comfortable.
