Objectives

Our Scout Group was registered on the 10th April 1961, and has been based at the same location in the Murray every since.

Our Scout Group has a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack, a Scout Troop and an Explorer Scout Unit.

We are part of the Strathcalder District and Clyde Scout Region.

We believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more no matter if they are Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts or Explorer Scouts

Each week, we give over 60 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.

We are a co-educational group who offer membership to boys and girls.  We believe that supporting people to reach their full potential is important, and we do this by offering a balanced programme.

If you think scouting is just about boys, tents and woggles.  Join the adventure and let us change your mind.

Activities

The 6th East Kilbride Scout Group has been serving the local community since 1961. We are proud to be a part of the worldwide Scout movement, which is dedicated to empowering young people to develop skills for life and become responsible citizens.

Our group consists of young people aged between 6 and 18, and we offer a range of activities and opportunities for them to learn, grow, and have fun. Our programme is based around the Scout method, which combines activities that promote personal development, adventure, and community service.

We have a team of dedicated and qualified adult volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver an exciting and engaging programme for our young people. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them a wealth of skills and experiences that provide valuable learning opportunities for our members.

We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all our members, regardless of their backgrounds, abilities, or beliefs. Our group operates within the framework of the Scout Association’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct, and we strive to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.

We believe that Scouting makes a positive difference to the lives of young people, and we are proud to be a part of this global movement.
