Objectives

The 5th Darlington Scout Group was formed in 1912 has and has been offering young people from Darlington the fun, challenge and adventure of Scouting for over 100 years. Our Group offers fun, challenge and adventure to both girls and boys aged 6-14. That might be a Beaver Scout spending their first night away from home, a Cub Scout participating in new activities ranging from crate stacking to archery, or a Scout spending a week with other Scouts from around the world at an international camp. Whatever your age, there's always a new adventure to be had... And Scouting isn't just for young people. There are many different ways in which adults can become involved at the Group, such as being a leader, section assistant or helping out occasionally at camps and other events. Also we are a charity and have our own set of trustees behind the team keeping us going.

Activities

The group offers everyone a wide range of activities that form the balanced programme. These include arts and crafts, learning about other faiths and cultures, traditional scouting skills like pioneering, cooking and being in the great outdoors. Most importantly everybody has fun, makes new friends and gains a lifetime of memories. We Believe in Scouting for All.
