Scouting activities for young people between 6 and 15 years old in the Ruislip area. The children are split into three sections and participate in age appropriate fun and adventurous activities to promote confidence, learn new skills and become responsible members of the community. As there are very few Youth Clubs available in the area, we provide affordable facilities for the young people in the community. We teach them life skills, confidence, team building, interaction, and much more. We help support the children in the community.
The 12th Ruislip Scout Group hold weekly team meeting for the three Scout groups, Cub, Beavers and Scouts. Within this meetings, the children are taught life skills, take part in team activities, and learn skills that enable them to receive badges to show skills learnt.
Weather permitting and not so much permitting, we take the children camping 2/3 times a year locally at Scout camps where they get an opportunity to learn how to set up a tent, make a fire, cook their own dinner, wash up, and much more. These camps also have dedicated activities for the children.
We also take the children for local hikes and explore the local area. On occasion we take the children ten pin bowling and other fun activities like quiz evenings.
We hold fundraising activities such as car washes, Xmas, Spring and Summer Fetes, family bbq days, and much more.
We are always looking at ways to increase the children's skills and learning eg First Aid Courses run by St Johns Ambulance and much more.
