ABOUT STEP OUT MENTORING

Step-Out Mentoring is an early intervention mentoring organisation that provides support for children and young people in the heart of South London through outdoor based 1:1 mentoring and group workshops.

We work with children and young people aged 8-18 who are disengaged with education and/or life and struggling with isolation and loneliness. We work to support them in forging a way through life, encouraging them to thrive and become positive change makers in their communities.

We are at an exciting stage in our organisation where we are setting up a new board of trustees to help us develop to the next stage. Our trustee board is enthusiastic and has a strong, positive culture.

We are seeking a treasurer to join our board of trustees. The role of the treasurer will be to present  financial reports to the board in a format that helps the board understand the charity’s financial position, advising the board on how to carry out its financial responsibilities, working with professional advisors, overseeing the preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts and taking on some of the day to day financial duties, such as book-keeping, budgeting and preparation of reports.

We're looking for a treasurer who can take Step Out Mentoring to the next level by providing expertise in the area of finance. As the treasurer you will oversee the monitoring of the organisation's finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees,  report regularly on them to the board and ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping, and budgeting are done properly.

The responsibility of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the charity's affairs, ensuring its financial viability and that the charity has policies and systems in place to ensure robust financial planning, implementation and reporting. We are looking for someone who is a qualified accountant.
