Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Seeking volunteer fundraisers - to enable us to achieve our charity's vision - join our 'working group' to help prepare grant applications, corporate pitches and help shape our fundraising strategy.

What will you be doing?

We are Young Climate Warriors. 62% of the UK’s statutory carbon emission reductions target requires individual behaviour change (UK Committee on Climate Change). Yet there is currently a gap in both curricular and extracurricular activities of age-appropriate, engaging resources on climate change, particularly for younger children. Young Climate Warriors seeks to fill this gap.

We are inspiring a national team of ‘young climate warriors’, ensuring children aged 7-14 (KS2/KS3) can learn about climate change and feel empowered to make informed choices. YCW supports teachers and families with free, age-appropriate, ready-to-use, weekly challenges online, offering creative ideas for embedding changes in daily life. Our ‘Climate Change Club in a Box’ provides an engaging ten-week introduction to climate change (Global Dimension ‘Top Resource’ award in 2022). We also offer deeper engagement with schools and students, though in-person visits from YCW Ambassadors with interactive assembly presentations (free to schools). In 2022, we became a Duke of Edinburgh approved activity provider and have young people undertaking YCW challenges as part of their Bronze Award.

We are a dynamic team of active Trustees, and a small team of volunteers and a couple of part-time staff. We are looking for volunteer fundraisers to help us develop and deliver our fundraising strategy.

What are we looking for?

If you have fundraising experience and are passionate about helping to combat climate change - we want to hear from you! As a volunteer with Young Climate Warriors you will be taking an active role in fundraising for our charity.  We're looking for team players who will be part of our Fundraising working group, and will have the opportunity to help us shape our fundraising strategy.

We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. To better reflect the communities we support, we particularly welcome applications from younger people, ethnic minorities and those outside of south-east England.

What difference will you make?

Successful fundraising is crucial to any charity, but at this stage it's particularly important for YCW.  To date we have been supported by some grant funding, a crowdfunder, a corporate donation, some regular individual donations.  We are now seeking to engage with a more active, broader fundraising strategy to enable us to meet our growing demand and to help us plan further into the future. Your time and energy could help us achieve our charity's vision!

Before you apply

To apply, please send us an email with a couple of paragraphs explaining why you'd like to be a Young Climate Warriors volunteer fundraiser. Please attach your CV and LinkedIn profile.  We're looking forward to hearing from you!
