Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

This role is an exciting role to help women from disadvantage backgrounds not only get to learn a new skill but setup their own micro-business and get an income to fight poverty.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for someone based in the UK to work with our community team in South Africa. As part of our Women Empowerment program we teach women from hard to reach backgrounds that are living in poverty and have no skills. With our charity project they come to us and learn to sew and with give them access to our skills centre daily. While this is important to help up-skill these women we do not want to end here.

We are looking for a manager in the UK that will work with the women to setup sales and partnership sales in the UK for the items they make so they can access international markets. The women already make school uniforms in South Africa and sell bags, tops and lots of other African items to tourists but now we are looking to sell to UK Corporates (like CSR Partnerships), a corporate can purchase the items the women make, they can be branded with their logo and in return they help fund our training program and support the graduates get into new markets.

This role is open for the successful candidate to work with the team in South Africa and suggest the best opportunites to help these women make a living they can survive on.
