We are seeking a committed individual who would like to make a real difference for a good cause and experienced in managing websites

What will you be doing?

BiG (Besty’s Inspirational Guidance) C.I.C. is a Community Interest Company that supports children and young people (CYP) including young parents up to 30, in underserved communities in Lambeth to achieve. Through activities, we help build confidence, resilience, and employability skills. Our aim is to guide young people from more anti-social identities to pro-social identities, where they feel able to have an impact on their communities.

Our mission is to build resilient confident young people who have self-actualisation using fun interactive development activities and programmes. Our programmes also tackle social issues and address racial inequity and are broken down into 3-pillars of work:

Our motivational educational programmes, delivered mainly in schools;

Our community recreational services that offer opportunities to enhance health and wellbeing for CYP out of school hours and;

Our employability programmes and work experience opportunities for teenagers in schools, school leavers and young adults that teach basic employability skills.

Our last pillar also includes other youth issues such as Youth Engagement Events, and is where our Dream BiG Young Parents Hub sits. The hub provides a safe place for young parents to concentrate on their own needs focusing on self-care and self-development activities.

Although BiG C.I.C. was incorporated in 2018, we only started business activities in November 2019. We are now looking to transform from a volunteer-run organisation to a successful non-for-profit organisation who serve the community with an ambition to grow the business.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in managing websites.
  • Proficiency with Squarespace website
  • We encourage creativity and innovation and the volunteer will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the customer experience on the BiG’s website

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with:

  •  Desirable - Experience in using the Acuity scheduling function (but training will be given)

What difference will you make?

Our website will become our most important vehicle to deliver our sales strategy highlighted in our business plan that will enable us to generate new and recurring revenue through sales; and will facilitate our customer incentive strategy. We have recently invested in the Acuity Scheduler function on our website which we will use to promote and sell our goods and services.

You will therefore be playing a pivotal role in BiG C.I.C. delivering more impactful activities to more children and young people therefore empowering them to be resilient, confident and to be able to turn their dreams into reality. You will also be part of an exciting diverse team with active Board of Directors who are all committed to leaving an important legacy for generations to come.

Before you apply

We would like to see character references to satisfy ourselves that the volunteers will be committed to what they are signing up for, as, as you appreciate, the on boarding process takes a lot of time and we are stretched as it is
