Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Help us engage and expand our audience by updating our website, creating a strategy and/or content so that we can raise awareness of Mastocytosis, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Hereditary Alpha-Tryptasaemia which are all rare diseases.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced WordPress professional to work with us. We would like the volunteer to:

Review the website and suggesting alterations
Supporting WordPress themes and plugins
Add, update and restructure content
Troubleshoot issues
Monitor the performance of the website via analytics

What are we looking for?

As well as looking for someone who is pragmatic, a good communicator, and passionate about helping us to achieve our vision and goal, we would like to find a WordPress professional with the following skillset:

Essential:

Proven experience with WordPress
Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics
Understanding of SEO
Examples of published websites and/or plugins
Good understanding of Google Analytics

Desirable:

Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery
Knowledge of code versioning tools
Experience with debugging tools

What difference will you make?

Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our members and the public. With your help we will be able to continue to support and advocate for people who have Mastocytosis, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Hereditary Alpha-Tryptasaemia and raise funds to help research into treatments and potentially a cure.
