You will work in partnership with our existing web developer to manage and develop our website, hosted on Netlify (the-chc.org), under the guidance of the Marketing and Communications Lead

What will you be doing?

· Work as a team with our existing web developer and Marketing and Communications Lead to manage website content ensuring it is up to date, aligned to our brand values and guidelines, functional and visually appealing.

· Develop new web pages as The CHC, CFK and FAS evolve, taking input from a range of internal stakeholders and bringing web expertise to the discussions to ensure we maximise the reach, effectiveness and impact of our web activity.

· Create new pages that align with our brand identity and project goals, including sourcing appropriate images and advising on written content layout.

· Run tests to preview layouts and websites features, fixing any functionality issues e.g. removing not working links.

· Manage a programme of enhancements and evolution to further develop our web presence, according to an agreed timetable. At this stage we are anticipating updates and refreshment of content, beyond minor tweaks, two to three times a year.

· Support CFK, FAS, CHC content managers in producing clear, strong content that works on the web and in using the CMS (Content Management System) to encourage self-sufficiency for minor website changes.

What are we looking for?

Required

· Proficiency in HTML, CSS (Sass) and JavaScript

· Proficiency in software development processes with GitHub

· Knowledge of static generators like Jekyll or Hugo (the website uses Jekyll)

· Experience of working in a similar role (paid or voluntary)

 

Desirable

· Knowledge of deployment processes with Netlify

· Knowledge of Decap CMS

· Knowledge of BEM terminology in CSSCreative eye and mind with energy and ideas to contribute to the team

· Understanding of Figma’s developer features and how to inspect designs 

· Experience of working for Charities and/or volunteer organisations
