Home-Start Northampton is looking for a volunteer web administrator/designer/developer to provide hands-on website support to help us showcase our work with families in the local community and bring our website up to scratch.  

What will you be doing?

What is a Home-Start Advisor?

  • Our advisors support the Board by providing expertise and guidance in their area of expertise, on an ad-hoc, remote basis.  This opportunity will update our website now and ongoing - You can provide advisory services completely remotely and give as much or as little time as you can spare.
  • You could be invited to our Board or sub-committee meetings but our advisors are not official Board roles and you do not have to join as a charity trustee.

We are:

  • A small but mighty local charity working to support families with children under 5
  • Committed to offering practical and emotional support, in-home and through support groups
  • Keen to demonstrate how our services support and are available for families in the town

You are:

  • A website designer/developer, either professionally or as a hobby
  • Able to provide hands-on technical support with content management, user access, and security
  • Passionate about giving every child the childhood they deserve
  • Non-judgemental, compassionate, and caring
  • Able to give 2 hours or so weekly, at a time to suit you, working remotely

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer web designer/developer/administrator to help maintain and update our website.

  • A website designer/developer/administrator, either professionally or as a hobby
  • Able to provide hands-on technical support with content management, user access, and security
  • Basic understanding of WordPress
  • Strong editing and writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Passionate about giving every child the childhood they deserve
  • Non-judgemental, compassionate, and caring

What difference will you make?

With your help we will be able to continue to supporting families, changing the lives of parents and particularly children, now and forever. You will help our small local community give up to date information, news, events, photos, quotes etc to vulnerable families and referrers in Northampton.  Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our families, stakeholders, funders and general public. Our website is our shop window, and we can do better!
