Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our growing team as a Unconflicted Director on a Volunteer basis. This is a board level position and a chance for you to make a real difference in our community.

What will you be doing?

Local Hospice Lottery is the country’s leading lottery for hospices and has raised over £60 million for the cause to date! We are proud to be named The Lotteries Council’s ‘Lottery Operator of the Year 2018’ and to be shortlisted within the ‘Most Committed Company to the Sector’ category of this year’s Institute of Fundraising Awards. We have also just been certified as a Great Place to Work our first year of undertaking the staff survey and meeting the criteria on the Trust Index. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of an innovative and dedicated team within a market-leading, growing and successful organisation!

Would you like to play a part in delivering LHL’s strategic plan and vision for the future? And help ensure Farleigh Hospice achieves its charitable goals?

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who;

  • Can add value to the overall governance and direction of this company?
  • Has lottery, fundraising, marketing, workforce development or other relevant experience?
  • Can commit some of their time on a voluntary basis regularly to LHL and help it achieve its aims
  • Enjoys working with individuals who share their commitment and vision
  • Shares Local Hospice Lottery’s Vales of being Fair, Ambitious, Supportive and Professional

What difference will you make?

The Directors, who are appointed by Farleigh Hospice, are responsible for ensuring that LHL is well run and delivers its aims and goals effectively. In order to achieve this, Directors must use their skills and abilities to ensure that we have an effective strategy for growth, achievable operational plans and an effective, responsible organisation.  Sounds challenging doesn’t it!

An Unconflicted Director has no conflict of interest either as an employee or trustee of Farleigh Hospice. Alongside their duties as Directors, they advise their colleagues as to the proper course of action where a dual responsibility causes a conflict.

So, if you enjoy a challenge and believe you have the skills, knowledge, experience and the time to commit then we want to hear from you.

Before you apply

If you wish to discuss this opportunity further, please contact us via Reach or apply by submitting your CV and cover letter to detailing why you would like the role and what you can bring to the role.
