Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Are you looking to use or develop your presentation skills? Are you passionate about faith and justice? We’re looking for Christians who can speak publicly about the persecuted church and encourage support for the work of Open Doors.

What will you be doing?

What you will be doing:

  • Booking, preparing and delivering a minimum of six presentations a year (usually local to you)
  • Encouraging individuals to become supporters of Open Doors through praying, giving, volunteering or campaigning
  • Networking locally to generate new opportunities to speak.

What we’ll give you

We’ll provide you with training on public speaking and how to present the work of Open Doors, as well as ongoing support from our friendly team.

We’ll keep you up to date with the latest stories and resources to help you share relevant and inspirational content wherever you go to speak. And you’ll be cheered on by a close-knit community of other volunteer speakers.

About Open Doors

Over 365 million Christians around the world face persecution or discrimination for their faith. For more than 65 years, Open Doors has stood alongside these believers supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief, and helping them to stand strong for the long-term. Our underground networks operate in more than 70 countries, including some of the most dangerous places on earth.

What are we looking for?

  • A passion for Jesus and the global body of Christ
  • Able presenter, confidence and experience with public speaking
  • Self-motivated to arrange and organise speaking events throughout the year
  • Ability to correspond with people by phone, email and letter.

What difference will you make?

Open Doors’ vision is to grow and invest in a team of inspirational and authoritative speakers who can connect with different audiences and encourage them to support persecuted Christians through prayer, action and giving. We also want to challenge individuals and churches to grow in their personal and corporate faith through a greater connection with the global body of Christ.
