What will you be doing?

Our charity delivers essential healthcare to underprivileged children in rural villages in Northern Uganda. We are urgently looking for an experienced email marketing, google advertising, newsletter, online fundraiser expert to work with us as we respond to Covid-19  to raise money through on global giving and our website to help us provide essential healthcare for underprivilege children, inspire the education  and restore hope to disadvantaged children and empower girls, youth and women to make them to be self-sustainable

 

What are we looking for?

We would like the volunteer to:

  • Perform a social media audit: Assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts.
  • Help us develop and/or execute a social media campaign around fundraising to support essential healthcare for underprivileged children, people suffering from mental illness, maternal healthcare, empowering girls, youth and women
  • Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images
  • Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels
  • Prepare graphics for sharing across channels
  • Engage with our followers and encourage interaction
  • Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience:

  • Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram / across all platforms
  • Building strategies to increase social media following and /or build fundraising or awareness campaigns   
  • Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions
  • Using and setting up tools such as Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc
  • Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity

The volunteer should also have/be

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users
  • Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.
  • Open to feedback
  • Has good network with people, organisations and charities which can help us raise to support our projects

What difference will you make?

Your input will shape how we present ourselves to potential stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to provide vital projects for disadvantaged rural communities in Africa.

Supply PPE to protect staff and patients form Covid-19. Provide wheel chairs and other services such as promoting independence,  creating awareness through health education, early diagnosis and treatment.  Built Misericordia Di Cristo Health Centre and Maternity unit in Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Centre so that pregnant women can access quality maternity services. These services include antenatal/postnatal care and immunisation services.

Over 200,000 children will receive access to quality healthcare services such as vaccination, oral healthcare etc.  Many children given opportunity to grow up healthy, attend school and  have a future. Essential medicine provided to rural hospitals and health centres. People with mental illnesses  will access personalised healthcare services.   Underprivileged pregnant women and mothers deliver safely in good medical facilities.  Promote  awareness, healthy living and minimise infection.
