As the Volunteers Manager for ESC, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of the volunteer journey.

What will you be doing?

As the Volunteers Manager for Endometriosis South Coast (ESC), you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of the volunteer journey. This includes recruitment, training, and engagement of our diverse volunteer team, ensuring they are motivated and supported to contribute to ESC’s mission. You will also line-manage the People Team and work closely with ESC leadership to promote a positive and inclusive environment for our volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Recruitment:
    • Lead the recruitment of volunteers through platforms such as Reach and other online portals.
    • Create and manage volunteer role descriptions to attract individuals with varied skills and experiences.
  • Engagement & Retention:
    • Maintain regular communication with volunteers to ensure they feel supported and connected to ESC’s mission.
    • Organize volunteer appreciation events and initiatives to foster a sense of community and recognition.
  • Training & Development:
    • Design and implement onboarding and training processes for new volunteers to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
    • Identify ongoing development opportunities for volunteers to enhance their contribution and experience within ESC.
  • Line Management:
    • Oversee the People Team and ensure all volunteer-related activities are aligned with ESC’s goals and values.
    • Conduct regular check-ins and reviews with team members to monitor progress and provide feedback.
  • Administration & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate volunteer records and provide regular updates to ESC trustees on volunteer engagement and outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with ESC’s volunteer policies and procedures, including safeguarding and data protection.

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with experience in volunteer management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Passion for social inclusion, endometriosis awareness, and women’s health.
