Volunteer Fundraiser will join our dynamic team of fundraisers, social researchers and project managers, to help us secure new sources of income to deliver services to vulnerable young people, particularly in response to COVID-19.

What will you be doing?

The volunteer will work with our award-winning fundraising consultant to develop the fundraising strategy.

The volunteer will: 

  • Work with the fundraising consultant on researching trusts and corporate grant making foundations appropriate to the Trust’s aims and objectives
  • Prepare funding applications for our innovate youth projects, developing strong bid writing skills
  • Work with all forms of media, producing supporting materials such as case studies that will be used to support fundraising bids.
  • Opportunities to visit digital projects and meet young people

What are we looking for?

Volunteer must have good communication and IT skills, strong verbal and written communications skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high level of organisational skills. 

They must have an understanding of, and sympathy with, the non-profit sector.

HAY is staffed by a team of skilled youth work practitioners and the contribution made by volunteers is invaluable. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted our beneficiaries and your help to secure funding so that we can continue to support them at this time will be vital. 

What's in it for the volunteer?

Training and regular supervision and training from our expert fundraising consultant will be provided, together with access to training courses with the Institute of Fundraising and other training bodies. Transferable skills will be gained in IT, communications, project development, and finance. Volunteers will gain knowledge of the fundraising environment with in the charity sector.
