1-3 hours / week, 3-7 hours / week or 7-15 hours / week
We request a minimum commitment of two hours a week for our regular team, but we can be flexible.

Aid the recruitment and onboarding process of new volunteers, schedule shifts for the centre, complete volunteer reviews, communicate with volunteer organisations and companies and attend events representing Shine A Light to recruit new volunteers

What will you be doing?

  • Plan recruitment drives to increase the number of volunteers needed by Shine A Light 
  • Schedule and participate in interviews 
  • Aid the induction and training of new volunteers 
  • Schedule when volunteers will be working 
  • Facilitate regular reviews to track the progress of volunteers 
  • Work with volunteers to find the right role for them 
  • Organise volunteers to aid in facilitating events 
  • Connect and regularly communicate with volunteer organisations, local colleges and universities and companies looking for volunteering opportunities. 
  • Ensure that all job roles and associated documents are kept up to date.

You will be working with other volunteers, new starting volunteers and ocassionally trustees. 

What are we looking for?

  • You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages 
  • Experience in Human Resources 
  • An interest in, and commitment to Shine A Light

What difference will you make?

We currently have a small but brilliant team. Your help will aid us to expand our team, and therefore our services, enabling us to engage more families in need of support, and begin running new services for them. 

Before you apply

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an application form for our records. You will be invited to an induction day, where you will receive basic training, and have an informal interview. This will be lead by our CEO and will be an opportunity to learn more about what we do and meet some of our team.
