Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We need help writing bids to support local and national projects to fight poverty in the UK.

What will you be doing?

Help Close By is a charity that uses technology to fight poverty, and we're looking to grow from our base in Birmingham to cover the whole of the UK. We have multiple successful teams both local and remote. This role is remote based, for UK volunteers only due to safeguarding.

We're in the process of setting up a Fundraising and Bid's volunteer team in support of our local and national efforts. Some foundational work has already started, however given the task ahead we need to assemble a dedicated team around this. We already have data, tech and marketing remote volunteer teams that can be called on to support bid projects. This role may be suitable for people with business skills in pitching, budgeting or indeed writing bids for that conform to specific criteria from a grant.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong writing skills with a business-like focus.
  • The ability to make sure criteria for bids can be followed in our submissions.
  • Budgeting skills.
  • An understanding of how projects relate to an overall strategy

What difference will you make?

This role will have a huge impact, allowing us to continue and grow our services to a national level whilst ensuring services we have at a local level can continue to support those most in need.
