Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

You will be helping us to publicise the excellent work we do, to local audiences using a range of channels. You will be supporting our marketing and social media functions and strengthening our brand.

What will you be doing?

Being a visual communications volunteer can involve:   

 Social media – creating visual content for Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram 

  • Helping us create a TicTok account and creating content for us. 
  • Support to develop the visual branding for our organisation, helping us to tell the story about the work we do and to support audiences to find the help that they need 
  • Assisting with the production of visuals for publicity materials including press releases and printed materials by mail-outs or by hand, email, websites 
  • General assistance for our events programme including attendance at key events  

What are we looking for?

These are some of the things that we think are the important qualities in a visual communications volunteer, but just as important is someone who is willing to learn and grow with our support.  

  • Creative skills in design, illustration, digital content. 
  • A professional, friendly and outgoing manner 
  • Ability to work on own initiative 
  • Previous marketing and social media experience would be a bonus  
  • Commitment to work within marketing guidelines and policies  
  • Willingness to learn about the range of our services    
  • Good oral and communication skills are essential 
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy 
  • The ability to work confidently on own initiative and know when to seek help and support. 
  • I.T. literate 
  • Reliability 
  • Willingness to undertake training where necessary 
  • Requirement to undertake Induction Training, work to guidelines and policies on Health & Safety, Confidentiality and Data Protection, Equal and Diversity etc.
