What will you be doing?

Treasurer / Vice President

The Treasurer/Vice President role is the primary steward of PWN London’s financial resources and serves as the right hand of the President. This dual role involves not only managing the financial aspects of the Network but also supporting the President in leadership duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Stewardship:
    • Serve as an advisor to the Board on the financial impact of all decisions.
    • Ensure that the financial aspects of the Network are well-managed and align with the President’s vision.
    • Oversee budgeting, account management, and financial reporting in conjunction with an external provider on an annual basis.
    • Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  2. Leadership Support:
    • Assist the President in strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Act as a liaison between the President and other Board members, ensuring clear communication and alignment on financial matters.
    • Step in for the President when necessary, representing the organization at events and meetings.
  3. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Board and relevant stakeholders.
    • Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to financial management.

By combining the roles of Treasurer and Vice President, this position ensures a cohesive approach to both financial stewardship and organizational leadership, supporting the overall mission and vision of PWN London.

What are we looking for?

Treasurer and Vice President

The Treasurer and Vice President is the primary steward of PWN London’s financial resources. More than just a skill set, we are searching for a character who embodies integrity, diligence, and a commitment to our mission.  This dual role involves not only managing the financial aspects of the Network but also supporting the President in leadership duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Stewardship:
    • Serve as an advisor to the Board on the financial impact of all decisions.
    • Ensure that the financial aspects of the Network are well-managed and align with the President’s vision.
    • Oversee budgeting, account management in conjunction with an external provider, and ensure adherence to any local audit regulations.
    • Previous financial management experience is required.
  • Management of Revenue and Expenses:
    • Define yearly forecast and budget.
    • Record income and expenses, balance all budgets, close year-end accounts, and prepare financial statements for board meetings.
  • Management of Financial Processes:
    • Respond to and process invoices for incurred expenses.
    • Manage online accounts (Official network account, Xero).
    • Handle payments to third-party providers by check or bank transfer.
    • Oversee the review and monitoring of monthly bank statements against recorded income and expenses. Follow up on any unpaid transactions or errors in charges.
    • Collect and file key documents related to every transaction within the network.
    • Ensure year-end accounts are appropriately delivered and filed, overseeing the management of the external accountant.
    • Update Companies House.
  • Leadership Support:
    • Assist the President in strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Act as a liaison between the President and other Board members, ensuring clear communication and alignment on financial matters.
    • Step in for the President when necessary, representing the organization at events and meetings.
