To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

WRBLO wishes to sponsor staff based in Uganda and Nigeria who have detailed knowledge and experience of our operations and will be most effective as frontline fundraising officers in the UK.

What will you be doing?

WRBLO are ready to apply to the Home Office formally. We understand that there is a high risk of compliance audit due to the nature of our operations, our remote operations, and the number of CoS we will request.

We need to engage a volunteer who has knowledge and experience in dealing with UK Immigration Sponsor Applications and especially the five key areas of compliance. We are hoping that the successful candidate will develop and ensure that WRBLO has sufficient processes and record-keeping systems to evidence how we will meet the requirements and feel comfortable explaining these to the Home Office during any potential audit visit.

What are we looking for?

  • Legal skills
  • Familiar with immigration law
  • Communication skills

What difference will you make?

This role with have a huge impact on the work we are doing. We have five qualified people who are ready to begin the task of strategic corporate fundraising. They have in-depth knowledge of the projects we are preparing to support in Uganda and other countries across the African Continent.

You will be facilitating a very critical element of our strategic fundraising plan in support of projects and services that benefit deprived communities.

Your engagement will significantly boost our ability to begin the Corporate Fundraising element of our overall fundraising operation which requires a bespoke and authentic approach. Please see the outline of our Fundraising Strategy in our brochure which is attached.

Before you apply

We will welcome applications from volunteers who are interested in this role that will significantly support our cause. Once we receive a notification of your interest, we will initiate an online meeting during which we will explain more about our cause and how we operate. The suitable applicant will be welcomed and the formalities completed such as the signing of a confidentiality agreement.
