Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham is looking for people who are passionately interested in ageing and older people to join our Board of Trustees. The board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity.

Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham is looking for people who are passionately interested in ageing and older people to join our Board of Trustees. The board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity and its financial health.

As an Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham Trustee you will shape the direction of the charity as we focus on helping more of the older people who need us the most: older people who are lonely, in poverty or dealing with long-term health conditions without the care they desperately need.

We want to improve the diversity of our board - if you have a strong interest then we encourage you to put yourself forward whatever your background and however you’ve gained your experience.

What are we looking for?

You will:

  • Be passionately interested in ageing and older people
  • Be able to think critically and objectively, and express your views clearly
  • Be able to take in and evaluate a wide range of information
  • Have an interest in the work of a Trustee and good governance
  • Have the time needed for the role

We are particularly looking for individuals with one or more of the following areas of experience and interest:

  • Service delivery for older people in the VCS, public or private sectors
  • Legal and/or charity governance expertise
  • Fundraising and/or communications
  • Local government knowledge
  • Knowledge of older people's needs and Hammersmith and Fulham services generally

If you become an Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham trustee, you'll be guiding a charity that's focused on helping more of the older people who need us the most. Older people who are lonely, in poverty, or dealing with long-term health conditions without the care they desperately need. A charity that, working alongside our local partners, supports over residents of London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
