We are an independent, medium sized and extremely caring residential home for older people, run by a dedicated and experienced senior management team and supported by a diverse, caring and business experienced board of volunteer trustees.

What will you be doing?

Founded by Quakers over 75 years ago, the Board now consists of both Quakers and non-Quakers but remains guided by the charitable status of the home. We are a diverse group who bring HR, financial, social care, and business expertise to the table, and who are all ambitious to maintain the quality care, friendly atmosphere and unique character of the home.

Our aims as a Board of Trustees are to:

  • maintain the home and facilities to a high standard of safety and comfort for our residents and workforce
  • support the care team to provide outstanding care which is compliant with all the regulatory standards and legislation required and which promotes and sustains the rights of our residents to have control over how they live, making their own decisions and freely expressing their wishes and preferences
  • plan, monitor, and responsibly disperse the income of the home, to support it's function as a modern, comfortable, compliant and individual residential care home for those who live and work there.

We are seeking to further diversify our board and to widen the range of collective skills available to guide the home in the future.

What are we looking for?

We are looking to broaden the skills on our Board and are seeking trustees with a range of skills, who when combined have a broad collective strength.

We welcome applicants both from those who have several years’ of working experience in any of the disciplines required, and those with relevant lived experience in them. If you have experience of caring for a elderly loved one at home or in a care home and have some understanding of the issues involved around safeguarding, social care, governance etc: if you share our Quaker values, we would love hear from you.

What difference will you make?

If you are passionate about what happens to older people in residential care environments, if you have business or social care experience, an interest in or knowledge of the health and wellbeing of older people, we would love to hear how you could help our lovely home succeed in the provision of high-quality care. We are situated in beautiful surroundings in Gerrards Cross, with easy links to major transport hubs.
