Calling all potential trustees, whether or not you’ve any trustee experience, to support our charity for unpaid carers.

What will you be doing?

At WAC, our Board has 8 Trustees with a broad range of skills, experiences and backgrounds and some have caring experience. With the growth of our charity, we are now looking to strengthen our Board by recruiting new Trustees. While we would welcome applicants with general skills, those with skills in people and wellbeing, marketing and communication, or charitable business development and fundraising would be of particular interest.

As part of our Board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to support unpaid carers.

Trustees have to commit to at least 13 days per year, including 4 Board meetings, 4 sub-committee meetings, 4 trustee meetings and our AGM. However, all trustees add value by meeting staff, volunteers, etc., and attending other meetings.

There is no financial remuneration, though expenses for travel and out-of-pocket expenses may be claimed. There will be an induction and training programme.

Meetings are generally held at the office in Worcester. Where necessary. Trustees can attend via Teams.

We look forward to hearing from you.

What are we looking for?

While we would welcome applicants with general skills and experience, those with skills in people and wellbeing, marketing and communication, or charitable business development and fundraising would be of particular interest.

Potential trustees will be good communicators, with a commitment to what WAC delivers and be willing to be engaged in the overarching direction and strategy.

It is not necessary to have previous trustee or board committee experience as training and induction will be provided. This position would therefore suit an individual taking their first steps. We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. We are actively looking to further diversify our board to help us represent all the communities of Worcestershire. If you think you can help us to achieve this we would very much like to hear from you. Everyone’s input will be valued and support will be available to a new trustee.

What difference will you make?

As part of our Board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to support unpaid carers. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity.

Before you apply

Suitable candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form and will receive a verbal briefing from our Chief Executive prior to formal interview.
