The relocation of Lister Steps to The Old Library has enabled the charity to achieve it's long term vision to be 'the spark that makes Tuebrook, L13 a better place to live and work.'
We are looking to expand our Board by recruiting up to 5 new trustees. The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the charity. It takes an overview of the work and helps steer the organisation towards it's aims. The role of the Board is to give direction, manage people by working in partnership with the CEO and making the organisation accountable and sustainable. We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of the evolving and further development of Lister Steps, ensuring that it meets the needs of those who use our services in a positive and innovative way. We need trustees who have the time and commitment to attend regular Board Meetings. We welcome people with any of the following skills: Finance, Income generation, Fundraising, Marketing, Event Management, HR, Project Management and IT/website skills. We are interested in recruiting people who have disabilities, people from different ethnic backgrounds and people who use our services, all of which are currently under-representedon our Board.
We are looking for trustees with a range of skills and experience. These include Marketing and Event Management, Income Generation, Finance, leadership, Digital/IT, Project Management, Childcare and Youth Work. In addition we look for people with a commitment to the organisation, a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort, strategic vision, an ability to speak their mind and an ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
As a member of the Board, the trustees shape our work and direction and help us to achieve our aims. The trustees work in partnership with the CEO and Senior Management team. Trustees with specialist skills may join sub-committees and work alongside key staff or volunteers. One of our trustees, foe example is the Board representative on our new 'Friends of The old Library' group. Trustees are invited to attend and support community events and activities, depending on their availability. Some trustees prefer just to offer their expertise and knowledge at Board Meetings.
We require completion of an application form and arrange an informal interview. Our trustees also require an enhanced DBS and approval by Ofsted. This procedure takes place once the application has been accepted.
