Trustees / Advisory Board for Blue Patch. As we become a charity (CIO), after 10 years as a Social Enterprise. Our mission is to educate and promote sustainably-minded creative micro-businesses on their net zero journey.

What will you be doing?

Blue Patch is the UK's Sustainable Directory. We are looking for a Trustee with both charity and business experience and a keen engagement with sustainability and climate change mitigation. A passion for creativity and design and helping micro-enterprises on their sustainability journey.

The Blue Patch community is 10 years old and has 100 business members. Our transition from a home-grown social enterprise to a CIO is  about to be submitted to the Charity Commission, with the new strategic plan in place. We are looking to expand the board as soon as the charity has launched and to complement the skills of the existing board and trustees.

What are we looking for?

Blue Patch's board and team work in a participatory and open manner where differing perspectives are welcomed and discussed. The pragmatism allows for a safe space to explore ideas, a quality that makes Blue Patch dynamic and responsive to the shifts in the net zero space, whilst holding to the vision and mission of the strategic plan.

  • Charity experience; impact reporting, governance, chair
  • Creative arts and curation / event management
  • Fundraising
  • Business growth and management skills.
  • Sustainability / ESG / Net Zero training for small business
  • Communications

What difference will you make?

The micro-enterprise sector is under resourced and environmental consultants typically beyond reach. Blue Patch will support and educate this sector to address carbon emissions and waste and to improve their environmental impact. Our mission is to contribute to the sustainable development and support net zero across the UK and Ireland in the micro-enterprise sector and to share their achievements to inspire others to engage in net zero and carbon-conscious behaviour change.
