Addirional trustees required for small growing Sottish charity which aims to provide a pan-Scotland service for older and disabled people to assess their fitness to drive. Trustees must be resident in Scotland
DriveAbility Scotland provides driver assessments for disabled and older people, enabling them to start or resume driving, the key to independent mobility, particularly in remote and isolated parts of the country. The service also identifies drivers who are not fit to drive, a significant contribution to road safety.
Skills and experience in financial monitoring and control

Governance
Experience of dealing at senior level with key stakeholders, including Scottish and local governments.
The trustees bring additional skills to the existing small and energetic Board, to improve governance, financial oversight, and assist in finding long-term financial stability from new sources, including the Scottish Government. The current service provision of driver (and passenger) assessments in Scotland lags far behind that in England; such provision as does exist is located primarily in the Central Belt.
The strategic goal of the charity DriveAbility Scotland is to develop existing and additional services across the whole country, by setting up satellite and outreach operations. Trustees will act as negotiators and facilitators for this process.
