Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Our mission is to provide a community crafting hub that facilitates the reuse of scrap materials.

The Trustee would work with our board in supporting the charity to make strategic decisions and ensure financial targets are met.

What will you be doing?

Would you like to be part of and take a lead role in our crafting community?

Dorset Scrapstore is a local member-based charity and we are on a mission to encourage Dorset to reduce, reuse and recycle whilst getting creative and crafty!

We are looking for a trustee treasurer to join our board and help us take Dorset Scrapstore and its thriving community forward.

What will you do as a trustee of Dorset Scrapstore?

We have trustee meetings six times per year.  It is during these meetings that we make crucial decisions about the running of the charity and the future direction or strategy of Dorset Scrapstore.

As Dorset Scrapstore is a very small organisation, with four part-time employees (~2 FTE).  We are ideally looking for trustees who have an interest in arts, crafts or environmental issues that would be 'hands-on’.

What are we looking for?

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a trustee treasurer to allow the retirement of our current treasurer and founding trustee of Dorset Scrapstore, 24 years ago.  The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowldege of Xero software
  • Worked or be working in the financial industry
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating and networking
  • The ability to be actively involved in the charity

What difference will you make?

As a local educational and environmental charity that has been running for over twenty four years, we have a thriving community of individual and group members and a dedicated team of volunteers.  Our aim is to expand on what we are already doing, such as offering more volunteering opportunities to people who are socially isolated or disadvantaged and making arts and crafts available to all.

Before you apply

Please email Carolyn Corr, Chair of Trustees with your CV and a brief covering letter explaining why you would like to be a trustee of Dorset Scrapstore and what skills you would bring to the charity.

Informal discussions are always welcome before applying.
