We want to be flexible about when this work is carried out so that we can attract people from a range of backgrounds and experience to this role.

A dedicated small staff & volunteer team run our Wellbeing, Dementia & End of Life Support for over 50s. Seeking trustees to help consolidate what we do best & reach more people.

What will you be doing?

You will be one of the small group of trustees who head our organisation staffed by 5 part time members of staff and 80 volunteers.

The ideal candidate would have:

Experience in accounting, producing statutory accounts

Knowledge of producing budgets in collaboration with the trustees

Working in collaboration with trustees, and other volunteers playing key roles in the organisation

A commitment to working with volunteers in a not-for-profit arts organisation and managing significant grant / contract funding

What are we looking for?

It would be an advantage to have appropriate financial qualifications but you might also be working towards a financial qualification. We are open to helping people gain experience and achieve their own goals while being a trustee. Experience of working as a trustee and of working in a not-for-profit arts organisation would be an advantage but not essential.

Someone who enjoys planning ahead and thinking strategically.
You will need to have appropriate digital and IT skills.
Good communication skills.
Enjoys developing and being part of teams.

There is an opportunity to build more understanding about health and social care or you may already have an interest or experience on this area already.

What difference will you make?

The Treasurer is a key role within our trustee team. We are seeking someone who will have the skills and experience to keep us on track financially. But we are also seeking someone who cares about the people we serve and wants to work with other trustees to ensure we maintain a good quality service while also being able to take advantage of opportunities to grow and reach more people.

If you have or have had lived experience of being a carer for loved one with dementia or have yourself benefited from the support from a service like ours this would be a real value but it is not essential.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach Volunteering in the first instance. Please ask any questions about the role when you make this contact and we will answer these. We will invite you to an online / in person informal interview for us to find out more about you and for you to learn more about us. We will also invite you to observe a couple of trustee meetings so you can see how these meetings run before deciding whether you would like to join the board.
