We meet once per month apart from August and December.

Exciting time of growth and development as our small but ambitious charity continues to develop its services. Seeking hands-on, enthusiastic women who are passionate about meeting the growing demand to support those affected by abuse.

What will you be doing?

Do you have drive, enthusiasm and determination? Do you share the organisation's belief that recovery is possible for all survivors of sexual abuse? Are you willing to join a hands-on team who want to make a difference to those who have been affected by sexual assault and abuse? We want to meet you!

The current board is small and very hands-on, with relevant experience in bid-writing, data analysis, governance, counselling, PR and marketing. We are keen to add to our collective expertise with a new trustee with any skills to offer.

The board meets on the third Thursday of each month although all of our volunteers and trustees have 'real lives' so flexibility is accounted for. The organisation is supported by a range of volunteers who work with the board as a team to ensure the charity successfully achieves its aims and objectives.

What are we looking for?

Our ideal trustee is keen to work as part of a team to develop the organisation. Our ideal trustee believes in empowering those affected by sexual abuse to lead fulfilling lives. We do not require someone with previous experience as a charity trustee, we are happy to provide training, looking mostly for someone with relevant experience and a willingness to learn, grow and work with the organisation.

What difference will you make?

By working with the current board to advise and oversee our business plan, the organisation can ensure its services are sustainable, and that the growing demand for support from those who have experienced sexual abuse is met. Police statistics are showing an increase of sexual offences recorded, and many survivors of abuse endure psychological trauma for years before seeking support. Each trustee plays a key role, working alongside the CEO, to ensure the organisation can continue to offer support to survivors, and can grow in a sustainable way to offer a more diverse range of services so no one is left without help.

What's in it for the volunteer?

Joining our organisation at this time provides a significant opportunity to affect real change in the development of services, which will have real impact on those accessing support for the profound and often devastating negative impacts of sexual violence. If you want to be involved in change, growth and improvement directly, this is a brilliant opportunity. We're not looking for just another board member but another member of the team to join our mission to enable survivors to live fulfilling lives.
