Cancer Support Yorkshire gives support to people affected by Cancer.

We are looking for a person with a solid Safeguarding experience of at least three years to act as the lead trustee for Safeguarding. 

What will you be doing?

The role of Safeguarding Lead is an important one, advising on all aspects of Safeguarding. We help both children and vulnerable adults do this role is crucial.  You will also, importantly, advise on policy,  procedures and record keeping.

The Board is a small  friendly team supported by good executive leadership. Good governance, relevant excellent services and staff and volunteer welfare is important to us.

We meet quarterly but encourage trustees to get to know the service and give professional support to staff in between meetings.

What are we looking for?

Applicants should have three years minimum experience in Safeguarding  including policy formulation. Board experience is not essential because as a new Trustee you will be supported in this role. 

Knowledge of the Health sector is desirable but not essential. The ability to work in a team,  articulate ideas and respect other people are essential.
