  • Individuals with relevant experience required for our board of trustees.
  • Could you help us move our organisation forward in this exciting time?

What will you be doing?

FreeUKGEN is seeking capable, motivated individuals to join our Board of Trustees to help shape the strategic growth of the organisation.

We do not have a physical location. The Executive of Free UK Genealogy typically meet four times a year, three times via Google Hangouts and once in person. We are in an exciting and challenging period of growth, and additional meetings may be needed. We pay volunteers' expenses.

Contribution would be in the form of membership of an email list, with quarterly video meetings/conference calls and the option of one face to face meeting in a year.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly looking for people with backgrounds in one or more of the following areas:

  • Charity Accounting
  • Charity Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Volunteer Management
  • Advocacy
  • Media (broadcast, print, web)
  • Web Design (user interface)
  • Web Design (user experience)
  • Web monetisation

An interest in family history / heritage would be a bonus.

What difference will you make?

We are in an exciting period of change, with many innovations on the agenda. Offering your support would have a wide-reaching impact on thousands of volunteers and family history researchers.

What's in it for the volunteer?

Experience in the governance of one of the first and biggest crowdsourcing endeavours.
