What will you be doing?

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for two proactive self-starters with great attention to detail to get involved in a dynamic charity based in London as part of our trustee board.

We are keen to recruit one trustee with a management, strategy or business development background and a second trustee from a fundraising, finance or accounting background.

There is flexibility in time and commitment, with quarterly board meetings. Trustees are provided with clear guidance and administrative support to focus on their specific allocated roles and supporting projects.

The primary responsibility of trustees is to provide the organisation with strategic leadership and maintain a governance perspective.

Trustees are charged within company and charitable law, with:

  • Serving the whole organisation and not as representatives of any specific interest group.
  • Acting in the best interests of the organisation at all times.
  • Working together and not pursuing personal or sectional interests at the expense of organisation interests.
  • Ensuring the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation or regulations.
  • Ensuring the organisation operates within the aims and objectives as set out in its governing document.
  • Ensuring the organisation’s resources are applied exclusively in pursuit of its objectives.
  • Acting as whistle-blowers to the Charity Commission when issues of concern are raised and not dealt with by the Trustee Board.

By design, our Trustees are an integral part of the organisation’s life and its future development. This is not a quiet role as individuals and their families depend on the outcomes of our development work.

We are a small team of dedicated and passionate volunteers, so it is crucial that your own passion and dedication to our cause is aligned. Creativity and initiative are also encouraged as we are always open to new ideas and concepts.

What are we looking for?

Our Organization's core values are instilled in every team member right from the start. These include:

  • Be Compassionate, Creative, and Resilient
  • Pursue Growth and Learning
  • Build Transparent and Honest Relationships With Communication
  • Build a Dynamic Team and Family Spirit
  • Do More With Less
  • Be Positive and Passionate
  • Be Humble!

REQUIREMENTS

We’re all about diversity, but we will make a preference for applicants with:

  • A Degree in Business management or Program Development
  • A Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Prior experience in a new business/charity role within either the charity sector or an ethical start-up
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own diary
  • Have excellent communication, negotiation, advocacy and presentation skills

What difference will you make?

BENEFITS

  • Fun, friendly and collaborative team
  • Participation in a rewarding cause
