We are an amazing women and girls mental health charity that provides local support and services in Sefton and Liverpool. We are seeking two trustees, to join our board.  

What will you be doing?

ESSENTIAL

Commitment

  • Ability to understand and accept the duties and liabilities of being a charity Trustee.
  • Empathy with the vision, mission and aims of SWAN WOMENS CENTRE.
  • A willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort.

 Focus      

  • Ability to think and apply knowledge strategically.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to keep mission-focused and a willingness to listen and learn.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate management information and other evidence.

 Communication and team working

  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively and to take an active part in discussions.
  • Ability to influence and engage, challenge constructively and ask questions appropriately.
  • Willing to express their own opinion in a reasoned way, while also listening to the views of others.

 Accountability

  • Ability to exercise sound and independent judgement.
  • Willingness to make and stand by collective decisions, including those which may be unpopular.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on confidential and/or sensitive information.

 DESIRABLE

Management

  • Strategic leadership and management within an organisation

 Stewardship and governance

  • Trusteeship in a similar size or larger organisation, together with implementation of best practice in UK and/or international corporate governance.

 Specialist expertise

  • An area of expertise relevant to SWAN WOMENS CENTRE such as accountancy/financial management, law, project or programme management, human resources or organisational development.
  • Fundraising.
  • Marketing, communications or public relations.
  • Service provision at a senior level to in a health, education or social care setting.
  • Developing and delivering services to those who have experienced anxiety, depression and poor mental health in a way which promotes inclusion, equal opportunities and diversity.
