Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are looking for Trustees to help us achieve our mission to provide a platform for young people to share their voices, challenge the world around them, build their self-confidence and promote young peoples right to be heard as equals.

What will you be doing?

Headliners Trustees / Non-Executive Directors

Time Commitment: 4 to 5 formal meetings each year, plus time to undertake online training and ad hoc support of the charity.

Voluntary (non-remunerated)

Headliners supports young people through its unique multi-media journalism programme. Young people research and produce stories for publication and broadcast about issues that concern them; campaign for change in their communities and which helps young people make good choices in their own lives. Through our programme, young people develop their language, digital and media skills; improve their confidence, and learn about the world around them.

Headliners is seeking to appoint Trustees to strengthen our Board as the organisation continues to take forward an ambitious strategy to increase its social impact in the North East. New Trustees will play a vital role in providing support, strategic insight and good governance to the organisation.

We are committed to achieving greater diversity in our Board, and welcome applications regardless of applicants' backgrounds. Inclusivity and accessibility are vital to us and so please do make us aware of any reasonable adjustments we can make to facilitate your engagement with the application process.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Finance experience and potentially an accountancy qualification
  • Media or journalism experience
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Fundraising experience
  • Youth development experience

What difference will you make?

As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our mission.
