The New Forest Association needs a new trustee to lead on marketing and enable the organisation both to recruit more members who will be its next generation of leaders, and also to extend and strengthen its influence.
For over 150 years the New Forest Association has been campaigning to protect the New Forest. Indeed it was formed in 1867 to stop the inclosure of the forest by the Crown. Thus it has been instrumental in saving the New Forest we know today. The challenges that the New Forest now faces, from climate change to habitat loss and recreational pressure, are as serious as those it has faced in the past.
This trustee post provides the opportunity to play a vital role in continuing to protect the New Forest. You would be responsible to oversee the development of the Charity’s marketing and communications, thereby ensuring a positive image and growth in awareness of the Charity, increasing membership and revenue, enabling the Charity to maximise its impact on the preservation and enhancement of the New Forest. A full job description is found below.
The charity operates through a Board of Trustees, an Advisory Council, 3 Expert Committees (Habitat and Landscapes, Planning and Transport and Recreation Committees) and a Marketing and Membership Committee. The Board of Trustees and Council meet in alternate months and Committees are generally expected to meet every two months
You would sit on the Trustee Board and and chair the Marketing and Membership Committee. You would also be invited to attend Council.
