Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are looking for a trustee to join our current team who will help us develop our marketing plan in order to raise our profile in the local community.   This will help us increase our impact and fulfil our mission.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop the marketing and communications plan for Abbeyfield Reigate so that our profile is raised in the local community as a destination for older folk seeking companionship, potential residents and volunteers.
  • Encourage and guide our staff team in the delivery of that plan.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in developing and delivering marketing communication plans.
  • The ability to commit a minimum of 5 hours per month for trustee meetings and ad hoc discussions.
  • An understanding of legal duties of charities and trustees (training courses are available to broaden a candidates knowledge, and professional legal support is provided by the national Abbeyfield Society)
  • Good, independent judgement, and an ability to think creatively.
  • An ability to work effectively as a team, contributing an independent perspective.

What difference will you make?

Reaching older people who are lonely is really challenging, but we can see that when they are encouraged to join in with activities at Abbeyfield their well being improves.  Helping and encouraging older people to enjoy their later years is very rewarding, and we all learn a huge amount from their interesting and varied lives.
