Many Minds is an award-winning mental health and performance charity that puts people with experiences of mental ill health in the driving seat and advocates for better access to the arts.
This is an exciting time to join a small and dynamic organisation and help to shape the next phase of development. We put access and inclusion at the heart of our creative process and have creativity at the heart of how we run the organisation including Board meetings. The trustee role is a voluntary position that helps oversee the running of a charity. The role requires between 1-2 hours each month. We have official meetings quarterly in Bristol that last for up to 2 hours and an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year. These meetings may require additional time for preparatory reading supporting documents for presentation. We will have an annual Board away day. We encourage all Board members to attend Many Minds activities, performances and events to gain a better understanding of the way we work and provide opportunities for personal development and trustee training. As a member led organisation, we positively encourage our members to stand for election and currently have 3 members on our Board.
Marketing and Communications
Someone with strong skills in creating marketing and communications strategies, attracting new audiences and a good understanding of the arts and social sectors.
We are in the process of developing our three year strategy and business plan and new Board members will have input in to this process. We particularly welcome people who identify with experiences of mental illness, identify as, neurodiverse, d/Deaf, disabled and people from minority ethnic backgrounds (or the global majority).
Please apply through Reach and send us some background information about yourself and why you are interested in the role and please specify if you would be interested in one of the specific roles we have advertised.
As a next step, you will be invited for an informal conversation with a trustee and staff member. The next stage would be to observe a Board meeting. If the process has gone well, and you wish to be on the Board, in line with our charitable constitution, the current Board members will make a decision.
Please get in touch via Reach if you have any access needs for the application process or wish to discuss anything about the role further.
