We hold bi-monthly trustee meetings, however, the trustee may need to come in at other times above these.

We are looking to recruit a number of trustees to serve on our board, and help to move the charity forward strategically.

We work across Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale, helping the over 50s.

What will you be doing?

We are going through an exciting period of change.  We are looking for trustees who will help move us through this period of change and ensure that we remain sustainable.

We are looking for Trustees with a range of backgrounds, however, we are particularly keen to get those with financial or entrepreneurial background to work with us.  We currently have 6 trustees serving the board and are looking to extend this to 9, in order to further strengthen the charity.

We are a local charity, covering the 900 square miles of Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale. Our registered office is based in central Scarborough, where our offices are based.  We run a number of activities and groups focussing on the needs of over 50s.

We currently have a wide range of activities and are moving into providing more direct services.

We have a befriending service which offers telephone and face-to-face services, helping to eliminate social isolation and encouraging our elderly and less able clients to leave their house.  They also offer signposting into other organisations where necessary.  All our befrienders are volunteers.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a range of Trustees from varying background, however, we are keen to recruit those with the following backgrounds, skills or experiences:

  • Legal
  • Finance
  • Project Management
  • Fundraising/Income Generation

What difference will you make?

Our trustees are an integral part of our charity, working alongside the CEO to ensure sustainability and stability within the organisation. We are currently going through a period of change, with a new CEO in place.

We want to ensure that we remain financially viable in an ever changing and expanding third sector. New income generation routes are wanting to be explored and developed, alongside our current streams.

The work we do is of great benefit to the community, with us helping over 6000 people last year, and bringing in a substantial amount of money in benefits to some of those that are most in need.

Before you apply

We will be in touch with people interested in the role and will have a one on one chat - we prefer to do it this way to encourage people from all walks of life to apply.
