Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Would you like to make a difference? If you have 3-4 hours a month to spare, we need your help! Join our community led charity at an exciting time of expansion.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking passionate, committed people to become trustees. Involve supports voluntary and community action across Mid Devon communities through support for new and existing groups like advice on volunteering, funding, governance and much much more. Our trustees are vital to helping steer and influence our work. You will make sure it reflects the needs of our Mid Devon communities as, building on our successes, we expand to meet the increasing demand on our sector. Our Involve management committee is made up of a small group of Trustees and the Chief Officer that meets four times a year typically for two hours, face to face and online. One meeting is usually combined with our Annual General Meeting.

Typically, this volunteer role will entail a maximum of 15-25 hours per annum depending on how involved in projects you become.

The role will appeal to someone who wants to give their time, skills, and expertise to help others within the community.

We are looking for new Trustees who have gained knowledge and skills through direct involvement in business, the public sector, or the voluntary sector, with:

  • the ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement and work effectively as a board member with other trustees.
  • effective communication skills and a willingness to participate in discussions.

We are particularly looking for someone who has Fundraising experience to help support our fundraising strategy. We are at a time of expansion with our three year development plan and will need funding to help support this.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is interested in supporting a small charity and has experience of the voluntary sector and we are particularly looking for experience in fundraising and grant applications.

Our quarterly meetings are both in person but also online and the main part of this role would be working from home.

What difference will you make?

This is an important role helping us to raise funds for our various community projects. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us deliver our vision for the future and support new endeavours with further funding for our vital work across Mid Devon.

Before you apply

Interviews will be an informal chat with the chief officer via Teams and then an introduction to the trustees
