We are looking for an exceptional Trustee with a dedicated responsibility for finance. The successful candidate will have significant experience in financial management of organisations, including bookkeeping/accountancy.
The Behavioural Science and Public Health Network is a very small charity with high ambitions.
The charity is a leading network for professionals interested in all domains of public health wishing to develop an understanding of health and wellbeing from a behavioural, social and psychological perspective. We help professionals from both public health and behavioural science achieve this through sharing best practice, learning, events, networking, mentoring and supporting people. The Charity is registered in England as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. At present we have no staff but a good cadre of volunteers who are passionate and committed to our aims.
We are a small but rapidly growing charity at a pivotal moment in our evolution.
The Trustee - Finance will oversee the monitoring of the organisation’s finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees, to report regularly on them to the board, and to make sure that money is properly managed. They will ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping, and budgeting are effectively actioned.
As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to promote the use of the behavioural and social sciences to improve population health. This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for professionals working to improve population health outcomes. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity. The role of Trustee and Finance Lead is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.
